The above Thermogram is of an Outlet Nozzle of a Primary Reformer Transfer Line Piping. The Internal Refractory is Damaged and Degraded to a point where Steam must be used to keep the area at a controlled temperature. In some cases, steam cooling will not be effective and a plant shutdown may be warranted. If the temperature rises too high the line can rupture causing a deadly and catastrophic situation.
